Use of Checklists in Surgery
The World Health Organization has mandated that checklists will be used in surgical settings. The UK House of Commons Health Committee, in their report on Patient Safety1, welcomed this initiative. Our partners, Worldwide Medical Solutions, have introduced checklists into more than 20 hospitals in the USA. The checklists cover a range of surgical settings and may be customized to local requirements.

But a checklist is a not a panacea. The Health Committee report refers to the cultural problems of introducing this error management solution. As well as providing the hardware, Turboteams offers supporting training that covers the pitfalls of checklist usage and guidance on correct implementation.
